Haywood Community College is located off US Hwy 19/23. From I-40 take exit 27 onto 19/23.  Then, take exit 107 and follow signs to HCC. See map.

Registration Information

Please complete all of the information required on the registration form. No registrations will be taken by telephone or fax. Registration forms must be accompanied with all fees.

Minimum Age Requirements
The minimum age for participants in the Fire & Rescue College is 16 years of age. All participants between the ages of 16 and 18 must have written permission from their high school principal. High School Release form or letter must be returned with the registration form.

Fire & Rescue College Fees (Fee includes T-shirt)

North Carolina Fire, Rescue, Law Enforcement $30.00 per person (includes Lunch).

Out of State and those not fee exempt: $65.00 tuition + $30.00 = $95.00

Certain courses require the signature of the department chief for participation.

EXPERIENCE AS A JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER WILL NOT QUALIFY THE STUDENT FOR THESE CLASSES.

Some classes require additional fees which must be included with Registration Form. Additional fees may be found in course description.

Students may enroll for multiple classes as long as the class schedules do not conflict or overlap.

All classes must be listed on the registration form (located in the back of the brochure). Only one $3.00 per person Fire & Rescue College fee is required for the weekend.

Certification Information

Participants (except students attending certification classes) attending 80% of class hours will be awarded a certificate on Sunday or the last day of class. Attendance will be taken twice each day of class. In order to be eligible to receive a certificate of completion, students must be present each day of the class. Certificates for certification classes will be mailed to students.
